Students may use SSA’s new Online Social Security Number Application by visiting www.ssa.gov/ssnumber. Once they complete the information online, they travel to their local Social Security office with their required evidence in hand, check in at the kiosk, provide their online control number from their application, and meet with a SSA representative to verify the information they completed online and review the documentation.
