2 students awarded Gilman scholarship for spring 2019 study abroad
University of Nebraska-Lincoln students Luis Martinez and Connor McFayden were awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, to study abroad in spring 2019.
Nebraska to host 10 Argentine Fulbright students
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will host 10 Argentine students as part of the Friends of Fulbright program from February 2 to March 16. The program is sponsored by the Fulbright Commission Argentina and the U.S. Embassy in Argentina.

Programs in English as a Second Language offers a free support lab for international and non-native speaker students who need occasional English language assistance related to their classes. The labs are held in Nebraska Hall and Hawks Hall (College of Business).

Davis named to interim post with international engagement, global strategies
Josh Davis is the interim associate vice chancellor for international engagement and global strategies. Davis will serve as senior international officer and oversee Education Abroad, Global Strategies, the International Student and Scholar Office, and Programs in English as a Second Language.
Inaugural Global Virtual Classrooms grant awardees announced
The Office of Global Strategies has selected six faculty members from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) to receive a Global Virtual Classrooms grant. Funds will support faculty committed to incorporating innovative technologies in existing undergraduate or graduate courses through collaborative, online international learning (COIL) sessions. The grant is an expansion of the 2017-18 UNL Global Virtual Project.
